WFEE Trivia Bee

Last evening, I participated in the Winchester Foundation for Educational Excellence’s (WFEE) Trivia Bee program. Along with Jan Byford and Liz Silva, we comprised a team from Town Hall named “Smardi Gras”. The questions were tough, and we did not answer enough of them correctly to move to the Final Round. Our congratulations go to the winning team of the Winchester Parent/Faculty Association.

Since 1992 the Winchester Foundation for Educational Excellence has been providing private financial support to Winchester's children in order to foster innovation and excellence in teaching and learning. In 2005, the WFEE established the Promise Fund, a fund raising initiative spurred on by years of growing enrollment and decreasing state aid to education.

The Trivia Bee represents a fun event bringing together a wide range of organizations throughout the Winchester community. The common theme is educational excellence and opportunity for Winchester’s youth.

After last night, I will never forget that there are 42 dots on a pair of dice (not 40!), that the chemical symbol for Copper is Cu and that Truman’s vice president was Alben W. Barkley.

Wait till next year!
